Students receive a career, build a monthly budget, navigate unexpected life events, and make financial decisions that mirror adulthood while discovering how education, careers, and money are connected.

Financial literacy is about more than balancing a checkbook. Students need opportunities to experience the financial decisions they will face as adults before those decisions become real.
Through interactive simulations, students learn how careers, education, budgeting, taxes, insurance, housing, transportation, and unexpected expenses all work together. Rather than memorizing financial concepts, students practice making informed decisions in realistic scenarios that build confidence and critical thinking.

Sponsors collaborate with Period Zero to identify realistic education pathways, certifications, career benefits, and work-related expenses. Period Zero then translates that information into an age-appropriate Career Card for the financial simulation.
