Teen Networking Nights

Career Exposure • Social Capital • Workforce Readiness

Teen Networking Nights is a youth leadership and career exploration program created by Period Zero. A free community-based series for grades 7-12 connecting teens to real professionals, pathways, and real conversations about the future of work.

These sessions connect teens with entrepreneurs, business leaders, and mentors while building the skills that matter most in today’s workforce: cultural agility, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.

Join the interest list to be the first to receive upcoming session dates, registration information, and opportunities for students to participate in entrepreneurship and leadership events.

Why Teen Networking Nights Matter

Real Conversations

  • Teens lack access to professional networks, not motivation
  • Career exposure often happens too late to shape postsecondary decisions

Skill Building

  • Students practice communication, confidence, & professional presence
  • The competencies are rarely taught explicitly

Career Awareness

  • Exposure to multiple career pathways
  • Lived professional experiences across industries

Coming Soon: Drone Workforce Lab

Drone Workforce Lab uses hands-on drone technology as a gateway to career exploration and workforce skill development. Youth will explore how emerging technology is used across industries while developing communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Industry professionals will help students connect their experiences to real-world careers and future workforce opportunities.

Education & Workforce Partnerships

Dr. Audra Lewis-Hoesch welcomed Stacey Caudill, Work-Based Learning Coordinator at Steel Center for Career and Technical Education, to Teen Networking Nights. Students gained insight into career pathways, technical education opportunities, and hands-on workforce preparation through this collaboration.

Entrepreneurship & Industry Mentorship

Max Polec of The CEO Strategy led a “So You Want to Start Something” session alongside guest founders Tia Christopher (Founder, The Orange Peel Collaborative), Sophia Fang (Founder, Peachy Day), and Miles Mufuka-Martin (Founder, Relai). Students engaged directly with entrepreneurs to explore business ownership, leadership, and innovation.

Student Leadership & Public Speaking

Teen Networking Nights student ambassadors delivered a 30-second pitch at the Inspired Women event, sharing how Period Zero has impacted their growth, confidence, and career readiness. Students represented the program publicly, demonstrating leadership beyond the classroom.
